João Paulo II Academy
The João Paulo II Academy is the central educational framework that guides and unites all dimensions of school life at the College. More than managing extracurricular activities, the Academy integrates and values these experiences as an essential part of students’ holistic and eclectic development, enriching our Educational Project in a decisive way.
The Academy plans, organizes, and oversees the College’s extracurricular dynamics, ensuring that every activity—cultural, artistic, athletic, wellness, or personal development—contributes to students’ full growth. Structured into several Schools (School of Being, School of Care, School of Sports, School of Arts, School of Knowledge, and School for Parents and Grandparents), the Academy provides a diverse pathway where every child and young person can discover talents, deepen skills, and grow in values.
School of Being
At João Paulo II College, education is more than academic knowledge—it is about forming the whole person: heart, mind, body, and spirit—guided by Gospel values and a Christian worldview.
The School of Being embodies this principle, serving as the core of all personal, interpersonal, and spiritual development initiatives in our community. Its mission is to promote holistic education and provide close, personalized guidance to each student and their family.
In this School, cognitive, social, emotional, and practical skills are cultivated in an integrated way. We aim to shape young people who are aware of their identity, think critically, act with solidarity, and uphold ethical values, committed to building a more just, fraternal, and sustainable world.
The School of Being is woven throughout the entire educational project: in subjects, Civic Education, group dynamics, and faith experiences. We value reflection, empathy, listening, care, and service, helping each student discover themselves, overcome challenges, and use their gifts for the community.
Volunteering plays a central role, offering a progressive, collaborative program with strong community roots, fostering compassion, resilience, and commitment to the common good.
This School extends to teachers and staff, who benefit from continuous, systematic training aligned with the College’s mission, enhancing pedagogical, relational, and spiritual competencies in a cohesive and inspiring environment.
The School of Being is the heart of our educational vision—a space where education means helping each person become fully who they are called to be.
School of Care
The School of Care is the attentive and sensitive heart of João Paulo II College. It is where listening, welcoming, and personalized attention take priority, recognizing that physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being is essential to learning and human development.
This School integrates services such as Psychology, Therapy (speech, occupational, etc.), Nutrition, School Medicine, and other wellness areas, providing holistic and continuous support to every student. Services are coordinated with families and teachers, respecting each child’s pace, history, and needs.
To care is to educate with attention to detail, gestures, vulnerability, and hope. True education only exists when there is trust, security, and well-being. The School of Care is more than a set of services—it is a living culture that shapes how we look, listen, and walk alongside each student.
School of Sports
At João Paulo II College, sports are more than physical activity—they are a school of virtues. The School of Sports drives all sports-related extracurricular initiatives, promoting physical, emotional, and social development guided by the College’s core values.
Sports are experienced as a space for excellence: fostering healthy habits, teaching how to handle victory and defeat, developing teamwork, discipline, resilience, and mutual respect. Every practice, game, and competition is an opportunity to educate in effort, perseverance, and commitment.
Programs are tailored to students’ interests and potential, supported by qualified professionals who understand the formative value of sports. Students grow in autonomy, responsibility, and sense of belonging.
The João Paulo II College Sports Club hosts competitive disciplines such as Volleyball, Karate, and Ropeskipping. It represents the ambition to provide high-level athletic training aligned with academics and the College’s values. Here, competing means more than winning—it means proudly representing an identity, a community, and an educational ideal that unites knowledge, character, and faith.
School of Arts
Art is an expression of the soul, a universal language, and a path of discovery. The School of Arts promotes and coordinates all artistic extracurricular activities: music, theater, dance, ballet, painting, pottery, and more.
Through artistic experiences, students develop aesthetic sensitivity, creativity, discipline, and the ability to express emotions and ideas. These experiences enrich the educational journey and open inner horizons, allowing each student to discover and value their talent and that of others.
Art is also a path to transcendence: through creative expression, students interpret the world, create beauty, and elevate the spirit. This School provides a space for experimentation, learning from mistakes, growth, and self-expression.
School of Knowledge
School for Parents and GrandparentsThe School of Knowledge focuses on academic support, organizing tutoring, guided study sessions, and other learning assistance programs with a personalized approach aimed at success.
We recognize that every student learns differently and deserves tailored support, delivered with rigor, expectation, and empathy. Teachers and tutors act as partners for both students and families, promoting study habits, organizational strategies, and motivation to learn.
The School of Knowledge is more than an academic support center—it is a space for intellectual growth, confidence-building, and self-esteem enhancement, where every student finds the guidance and encouragement to reach their full potential.
School for Parents and Grandparents
Education is a shared mission. At João Paulo II College, we believe that families—with their example, love, and wisdom—are essential partners in true education. The School for Parents and Grandparents strengthens this vital alliance, fostering a joint educational journey between school and family.
This School offers training, workshops, meetings, and reflection sessions for parents, grandparents, and guardians, creating a space for open, constructive dialogue where experiences are shared, challenges addressed, and trust and cooperation built. Families find support, belonging, and guidance to navigate the demanding mission of educating today.
The School for Parents and Grandparents is a space for continuous learning and collaboration, recognizing parents and educators as partners in the same mission. Walking together, we educate better—with greater awareness, unity, and hope for the future.
